USA Patriot Act – Expanded the definition of terrorism to include domestic terrorism, and enlarged the number of activities to which expanded law enforcement powers can be appliedHomeland Security Act of 2002 – Established the Department of Homeland Security HSPD-7 - Requires federal departments and agencies to develop methods and technologies to protect all critical infrastructures and key resources. HSPD-9 - Lays out policies, including roles and responsibilities, awareness and warning, and vulnerability assessments, to provide the best protection possible against a successful attack on the U.S. agriculture and food system HSPD-12 - Requires USDA to utilize the LincPass for electronic physical access to facilities and provide interoperability FIPS-201-1 – Establishes standards for HSPD-12 compliant physical access control components DM/DR – USDA specific policy requiring agencies and facilities integrate existing and new access control systems into ePACS ePACS Background Information?
